Build Good Habits Early

A Stronger Foundation for Life at Home

The early months are an important time to establish clear communication and useful routines. This residential puppy board-and-train program gives your puppy consistent, hands-on guidance before unwanted patterns have more time to become familiar habits.

Puppy Foundations May Be a Good Fit If

  • You want a structured start for a puppy between 4 months to 1 year
  • Your puppy benefits from consistent routines and immersive training
  • You want practical skills that transfer into everyday household life
  • You are ready to continue the routines and handling after the residential stay

Training May Focus On

  • Communication, confidence, and foundational obedience
  • Crate and potty-training routines
  • Leash walking, recall, and impulse control
  • Household manners and supervised real-world exposure when appropriate

Every puppy is an individual. The exact focus and pace depend on age, temperament, prior experience, safety, and the goals confirmed in writing. Training builds skills and routines; it does not guarantee a specific result or permanent behavior change without owner consistency.

Four Weeks of Structured Development

How the Residential Program Works

Your puppy stays with Noel for four weeks and works through an individualized progression. These phases describe the training process—not a rigid weekly promise—because puppies learn at different rates.

1. Settle & Establish Routines

The program begins with observation, relationship building, crate routines, potty-training support, and a structure suited to the puppy in front of us.

2. Build Foundational Skills

Training develops communication, leash walking, recall, basic obedience, impulse control, and useful household manners.

3. Practice in Appropriate Settings

Skills are practiced with supervised real-world exposure and socialization opportunities when they are appropriate for the puppy.

4. Transfer the Work Home

A go-home lesson teaches you how to continue the routines and handling. One follow-up Private Lesson is also included for continued support.

Home Life & Personal Attention

Dogs stay and sleep inside Noel’s home, with a small group of typically two to three training dogs at a time. They receive close attention throughout most of the day, with occasional periods when Noel is away running errands.

Dogs begin by sleeping in crates. As graduation approaches, they work toward sleeping on a dog bed outside the crate, unless you prefer continued overnight crating. Your sleeping preferences are discussed before the stay.

A Typical Day

The day starts with a potty break, breakfast, a morning walk and rest. Noel then works with each dog individually on their training goals, with rest between sessions and consistent potty breaks throughout the day. An evening walk usually takes place around 6 p.m.

Walks are typically about a mile in the morning and again in the evening; the routine follows the dog’s individual training plan. When multiple dogs have been cleared for socialization, backyard playtime may be part of the day. Group play is based on safety and fit, so it is not promised for every dog.

Common Questions About the Program

What ages qualify for Puppy Foundations?

The program is designed for puppies ages 4 months through 1 year at the start of the residential stay.

Is a consultation required?

No. The $30 Consult + Mini Lesson is preferred because it helps clarify fit and goals, but it is not required. When completed, that $30 is credited once toward the first qualifying Puppy Foundations purchase made within 90 days.

Will my puppy be fully potty trained?

Potty-training routines are supported throughout the stay, but results are not guaranteed. Age, development, health, environment, and consistency after the program all affect progress.

You will receive a photo or video progress update each week during the four-week stay.

What if my puppy has more severe behavioral needs?

A puppy is not automatically excluded. If the severity changes the safest or appropriate program, the timeframe and price may change only through an accepted written scope.

What support is included after the residential stay?

The program includes a go-home lesson and one follow-up Private Lesson. The follow-up is recommended within 30 days after your puppy goes home, but it can be completed later.

How do I reserve a program space?

Start by discussing your puppy, goals, availability, and program fit. An approved space is reserved with the $100 deposit after the individualized scope and required paperwork are confirmed.
